I'm interesting in seeing real data on how rake and the rake cap affects win rates at different levels.

I posted this question in the microstakes forum and responses with data for 100NL and below.

Can any of you folks post the amount you are raked (actual rake and dealt rake AKA "MGR" in PT3) in bb/100?

Obviously the formula is

<rake_paid> / <bb> / <hands_played> * 100

at 5NL I'm seeing about 8-9 bb/100 raked away. at 100NL folks report about 4bb/100 being raked.

Please mention which site you play at when reporting data. Also, these figures should not have rakeback deducted.

Presumably you folks at higher stakes your true rake rate is much smaller due to the rake cap.

I get 2.99 bb/100 over 200+K hands in HEM "rake". It think this is very close to MGR the few times I looked. Hard to say what my actual rake was, since I cashed in a bunch of FT points.

Thanks. I'm interested in the gross rake (i.e. rake before any rakeback or bonuses are deducted) so your number is exactly what I'm looking for.

I suspect that HEM, like PT3, it getting its number from the hand history. This is the number I want.

MGR as reported by rakeback providers is often lower than your true dealt rake as bonuses are often deducted (or so I'm told).

For the purpose of my survey I'm only looking at how much gross rake was collected and what the site was. I expect to see no significant different between rakes at different sites since they all pretty much collect 5% of the pot and cap at $3.00 (for NLHE 6-max +).

It looks like 50 NL begins to benefit from the $3.00 cap a little. From 25NL to 5NL all seem to get raked about 8 bb/100 then at 2NL the rake drops down to 2-3 bb/100.
