here is a hand and how i played it up to the turn. looking for feedback in terms of what i could have done better, specifically in sizings.

hero- just sat down no real reads on anyone
$1/2
on button- $250 behind.
button straddles to $4.

4 limpers
Hero- 9h7h

I think you played it fine id go 55 on flop but it hardly matters much nice turn bet nh

The Villain had 14 outs. There's no way you can change that through the size of your bets. You're going to lose this hand 32% of the time. That's poker.

If you're going to straddle on the button, then this is a raising hand pre-flop.

Raise big, like $25. If you get a caller or two they are going to play cautiously, and straight-up. Villains Fit or fold most of the time and a standard c-bet will pick up most pots. Even a small c-bet is usually sufficient in bloated pots. 1/3 pot is plenty to fold out air. In addition suited/connect-ish hands like this can flop reasonably well as a backup plan. You'll usually get checked to on the flop and can always draw for free if you do flop something good.
