How to adapt to a somewhat different Mississippi Straddle? How to adapt to a somewhat different Mississippi Straddle?

Hello people,

I recently joined a micro stakes home cash game where everybody is playing the Mississippi Straddle. UTG Straddles aren't played at all. The difference between this MS Straddle and the one I read about in the internet:

1)Only the button can straddle

2)He may put any amount he want from 2xBB to whatever he likes. We play 1/2 and mostly the Straddle is 5,7,11,15,17.... as you wish

3)Now the big difference... when the straddle get's raised pre-flop then the button has the ability to fold and to take back his straddle into his stack!!

If the straddle isn't raised, the button can't take back his money...

For example only the SB calls, everyone else folds, now the Button folds too, takes the straddle back, and the SB earned only a BB...

We could discuss if this makes sense, or if this is right. But if taken as a fact, how would you adapt your strategy?

In this game, players buy in from 50-100bb, and rebuy again with 50-100bb after they lost it all. So stacks may reach max up to 500-600 bb, but certainly not in the beginning of the game

Thanks
