Help, moved from online to live Help, moved from online to live

Hey guys,

I've recently gone from playing 1/2 NLHE heads up, to 2/5 live NLHE and was looking for some advice from more experienced players.

When ever I see a player play something poorly, I can't help but tell him how bad he played it, and tend to coach everyone at the table who are usually all fish barring 1 or 2. This is obviously not a good thing, and always feel the urge to talk to other players about hands and what I played online and stuff, which gives them the knowledge that I can play (also -EV).

I don't know if this is common or not, but maybe it just seems I'm trying to prove myself to other players or something??

Will it come with time, that I'll just shut up when people play the most -EV lines and ship 84o pre flop? Or is it something that requires work with my discipline?

Any other advice on moving into live poker in general would be great.

I think you're just not used to the social environment of a live game and feel theres nothing to talk about except poker with the players around the table.
Develope the ability to talk about poker without giving good strats away.

1) VB more , bluff less
2) Let your chip stack prove who you are as a player not your mouth
3) Let them continue to play the most -EV lines possible, That is why you are there. They paid to play, the lessons are extra.
4) Did I mention let them continue to play badly?

I think you're best off keeping the chit-chat to non-poker topics, such as sports, current events, etc.

It is totally natural, after a hand, to have a brief exchange about the way the hand was played. This, too, is simple:

If villian made a donkey play and sucked out, simply say "nice hand" and move on to the next hand.

If villian made a donkey play and lost, sympathize with his play and reinforce it: "I'd have called the pre-flop shove with 99 too. I could just as easily have been making a move with KJ as having AA there."

If you pushed with a big draw (e.g. straight flush draw) and get there, still say "I got lucky".

Etc. You get the idea.

soon they will figure out just how you play and even the bad players will bust you.
ive never seen anyone that talks about the hands be a decent winner over time.

you make everyone play their best against you.

plus you ruin the game.
