I agree with many of your ideas on this. Basically, people against 3betting are afraid because they don't know what to do when cbetting is not profitable when they miss. I think people are hardwired that not cbetting in the spots where we completely miss is weak. Got to look at all our options.
- Villain will put money in the pot with worse hands. Immediately huge +EV
- Villain will stack off with 90% of his postflop range. Even if we C/F when we completely miss 100% of the time, we can still profitably get stacks in with such a larger value range against villain in general that we're still profiting. As long as the SPR allows stacks to go in relatively frequently we're making even more money by betting.
Theres an argument for flatting if villain folds to 3bets frequently but will flat opens with ATC. However, when the pot goes multiway with the BTN flatting definitely a 3bet if simply to balance our squeezing ranges (not that balance seems to be something you really need to think about lolz)
