i had the same problem, I am doing much better now i hope this thread can help.

For me the main difference was that in cash games there is no start and finish, in a tourney when you get short you start shipping by chart and pray to win your flips. Another important adjustment was the preflop raise size.

You guys make good points. I think that is exactly what my probablm was. Overplaying tptk, and trying to hard to get people to fold.
from now on I'll fold to their aggression, I'll control the pot, and be more willing to fold out of position.

what kind of bankroll do you think a beginning player should have when starting to play 2/5? around 50k?

assuming max buy in is $500

mr spiky thanks for the link

there was a comment on the link that says tournament players have a since of urgency to play hands, and beleive it or not that was dead on accurate for me. If i'm sitting at a cash game not playing any hands and just continue folding. It feels like i'm being ran over. Than I start to play redonkulously.

I'm glad that the posters were able to help. However our rules are that we limit threads to one thread/one subject.

Your next step is to go into the wealth of knowledge that is linked in the two stickies and start reading through the links. If you do so, you'll see that there is a winrates and bankroll thread where your question is answered.

Therefore, this thread is locked.
