210 effective.

Hero has played with villain a few months ago. Villain is a little too aggressive, not a complete donk but not a good player. Not a station. Hero has been fairly passive at this table amd has played 3 hands in raised pots in about 45 min.

Villain limps UTG. I expect his range to be fairly wide. UTG+2 who posted checks. HJ reaches for chips to raise. Hero is in the LJ with AQhd and raises to 10. HJ calls, limpers call.

Pot:40

Flop AsAx8d

Utg limper leads for 25. Fold. Hero calls. Fold.

Pot: 90 turn 3s bringing bd spade draw.

Villain checks. I don't expect him to lead bad trip aces on the flop but I suppose it's possible. I feel like it's 8's full, a lone 8, complete air, or a small to medium pair. Should we check turn and look to bluff catch and bet half pot on river? That doesn't let us get fat value from a hand like Ax suited but why in the world would villain lead that hand on the flop? We know it's not a big ace pretty conclusively because he's not the type to limp AK AJ AT.

If villain is loose passive I think not betting turn is criminal but vs a villain who isn't a maniac but overbluffs what's the best line? Also if we bet turn is it a bet fold?

Bluff catching? This is one of the best flops for us. I would bet or raise every street here. There is no second best hand for villain to make against us, only hands that can beat us.

If V has an A then lets make sure we get stacks in.
If V has air then we weren't getting much more than the flop bet out of him anyway unless he is some spazz.
If he has a pocket pair we aren't getting much out of him unless he hits his set to beat us.

I wouldn't worry about getting fancy and figuring out how to pick up an extra $30/40 from his bluffs, instead focus on getting his stack in if he has the A.

If he has A8/88 then he gets my stack when i don't fill up.

Ok, maybe I'm just leveling myself. I just feel like I would pretty rarely float and bluff here 4 ways on a AA8r board so when I bet I have to have value. And it's hard for him to have many hands that can reasonably call me if I have value since he just limped.

**** it, its 1/2 you're right, just bet and hope he calls.

Raise bigger preflop. Flop call is fine. Bet turn as played.

you probably need to know that this hand is completely irrelevant. You can call here ATC and bet when checked to and almost always win the pot. It didnt matter that you actually had it. If you have a tight image you win just with a simple float. You can probably never fold the flop without looking at your cards and make a profit

Bet turn
