There are a variety of regs: you have the "fit 'r fold" folks. These you handle by calling almost ATC on the button, and see what the flop brings. If they check around, bet and take it down. If they bet ahead of you, then you'll need a hand to play them. They are so easily robbed from the back row, why play 'em from the front row?
You have the tight nits, usually retirees who're there mainly for socialization, not to play. Most are simply tight, some know what they're doing. The mistake I see frequently is not paying attention. Their UTG ranges can be literally: AA, KK, AK without realizing that they're with someone (me) who would notice and exploit that until it's too late.
You have the college kids from Cincy who "think" they know what they're doing. You can recognize the type as they love throwing around the latest poker buzz-words as liberally as they throw around chips. Then you have those who actually do know what they're doing who never use the buzz-words, never talk strategy. I tend to stay out of their way, and they stay out of mine.
Football season weekends tend to bring in the fish who're willing to gamble it up. They'll stack off with K-high flushes without considering that you have the ace-high flush. Or they'll marry a straight when there's three of a suit out, or a set when four connectors are out... you get the idea.
