Is this fold too tight? Is this fold too tight?

what stakes are you playing? Did you minraise to 10 in 2/5, raise 5x in 1/2 or 3x in 1/3? It's hard to tell with no info on him but in a vacuum you're pretty much at a stack size where you can't fold. The deeper people are the more likely it's a straight.

What's his read on you then? If you know him and routinely talk about hands you should know exactly what his range is (personally I never talk advanced strategy with my poker friends who I routinely play against unless it's a very close friend who I don't play with... don't get me wrong I love the friends I've made in poker but for the ones in my every day players pool I don't give away free information about how I play that could be used against me. When they tell me about their big hands (war stories) I just say yeah tough hand you did everything you could I don't say "Well you should of 4bet him since you know he's so light there" etc. Maybe other people have different opinions but for me I don't talk about deep strategy that can and will be used against me for money.

Thank you all for the feedback. Definitely will think about these spots differently now.
Terrible fold.

You have 35% equity against JT. You need 43% equity to call. V never has QQ or KK, he would have 3 bet you preflop. You're crushing the rest of his range. Easy call.

Showing that you can fold a set in this spot is even worse. Essentially you folded the 2nd nuts here (technically it's the 4th nuts, but KK and QQ are pretty much not in V's range). You're telling the table that you can't call a huge bet without the nuts. Observant Vs will take note of that and bluff you unmercifully.
