Villain: Early 50's fijian lady. Seen her a lot around. Definitely a rec and plays mostly short stack really poorly but pretty tight. $100ish

Hero: $500, playing tag this evening.

Hero gets JJ in hj, raises to $15, co calls and villain in sb raises to $35 (has around $65-80 behind).

Hero?

I folded but I'm curious to what you all think. I felt, at best, I was facing AK but is this a standard shove?

Call, you are getting 3:1 on a call. Folding is criminal.

Even when I'm not sure if she'd even 3-bet QQ?

You still have enough equity if its just kk,AA and AK. If its Kk+ you could still call with implied odds added with your equity. You only need 25% equity to make a call profitable.

This is a call with the dead money from CO ... and they may call as well to add into the pot. If you whiff Flop and she leads out then you can consider folding if you dont even have any backdoor draws.

How does the raise compare to previous from SB? She should be protecting better ... GL

Agree, must call. Assuming CO folds you are still getting $15:$65 or 1:4.3 odds with another 4-6:1 implied. Not hugely EV, but enough to justify the call. Especially if she will fold KK on an A high flop

Short-stack 3bet is almost always QQ+. AK probably just shoves over the raise and call.

Do you know CO's stack size? I think that this is very relevant information.
Do you have any reads on CO?

I guess heros definition of tight goes out the window.

I fold. Her 3 bet smallish --from OOP----with short money behind ---and being tight per hero, this is such a fold.

Call.

LOL at shoving a 3-bet blind with a caller behind.

If you're just going to set mine with JJ here, isn't it a fold pre??

He had about $300 behind, a little loose late twenties/early thirties guy. That's about it.

Pretty likely facing AK and she's ready to stack off. Since there is another player behind you to act I think a re-raise is okay and a fold is decent.

This is actually a gross spot. pocket pairs make up a large part of CO's range so you don't want to be setmining to try to stack him. Unless you flop a jack you'll have no idea where you're at OTF whether or not overcards fall. Yes, we only need 25% equity but this is a ROI situation.

Raising can't be correct either unless you think she's tilting or she has TT/AQ+ in her range. So I guess it's your choice between calling to setmine/ high variance postflop situation or just folding like you did.

I don't fold JJ much preflop. I don't here.
