First off, thanks for all the good posts. I recently started playing live low stakes and this forum has been helpful, so here is my first post.

1/2 NL. I've been running well, have both villains covered.

Villian 1 (UTG) - Older lady, just sat down with $200.

Villain 2 (MP) - young guy, just sat down with $200.

Villain 1 raises to eight, about 4 people call. Hero on the button with 89hh. Hero calls.

Flop = K88 rainbow with Kh. Villain 1 bets half the pot, villain 2 calls, hero calls, everybody else folds. Turn = Jh. Villains check, i bet half the pot. Villain 1 C/R (looks like she's committed), villain 2 folds (obv some king).

Is Hero drawing to one out or is 888 and a flush draw good for a shove?

I think vs an unknown her range is wider here than boats and trips. I would think its something like AA, AK, KJs, kk, some jj combos and sometimes A8s. I would be committed here - there are enough worse hands that play this way that syacking off here is likely +ev.

Let me see if I have this right?
6 way flop ---pot $48
villain bets $24 and gets 2 calls on flop --- pot now $120
checked to you on turn and you bet $60 --- pot now $180
villain has $168 remaining and check/raises for how much? Did she not just shove?

Any raise commits her and you are committed also after putting in almost half of your effective stack.
And if she did shove pot would be $348 and you would have to call $108 for odds of 3.2/1
She may have KK here but I agree with setsy that AA and AK are in her range and possibly JJ.

You have 82% equity against a range of AA,KK & AK
and if you include JJ and A8s you still have 69% equity

Her line screams strength, especially if she did not C/R all in; but against an unknown it could mean any of the above hands.

I don't see how you can't get all in here.

Never slow play a flopped set! Nobody knows you have a monster anyway, therefore, it is stupid to conceal the strength of your hand. Backing off to a raise and then check-raising on the turn is a valid strategy (although not necessarily best). I do not back off when there is a third suited card on board. I feel that I have enough outs to disregard the possibility of a made flush against me. If you lose with a set, you'll lose a lot of money. If you don't, you are not playing your sets correctly.

We don't have a set here. Hero has trips. Flop is fine. Get it in on this turn.

Oh, Yes, Sorry, I see now. You're absolutely correct. Having trips or flopping a set it's a big difference like day and night. With trips we play "one card hand" and can lose lots of stack.

I obv didn't know there was a difference between trips and a set. Noted

We got it in on the turn and she showed A8 offsuit (nice UTG raise). I guess I played it correctly.

She lost all her money in the next three hands. l o l

Thanks for your input

I cant see not getting it in vs an unknown live. Online I could make the fold but live.... who knows. If I had to put her on a hand I would guess JJ. Bet 1/2p scared, then CR T = JJ to me.
