3 hours into the session. Many passive players at the table and Villain is typical reg. Bought in for 100 and has worked it up to $150
Hero is reg TAG. Stack is 500.
1/2 NLHE Horseshoe Cincinnati
2 limpers
Hero (button) 10d 8d. Opens to $12
All others fold MP Villain calls.
Flop (pot $29)
Qh Jh 9d
Obviously we are loving this flop. Villain Checks and because the flop is super wet I bet $24.
Villain calls
Turn is Ad (pot $76)
Loving the backdoor redraw coming alive and we bet for value as the A has likely hit his range for 2 pair/SD combos. Villain checks.
Hero bets $50 and Villain calls.
River is Kc (pot $176)
Villian has $65 behind which he ships in.
Hero??????
While I was tanking, Villain shows 1 card.... the Ace of Spades........
Call. If this guy has AK, good for him. He limped in mp and then called a raise, that doesn't scream AK to me, but obviously stranger things have happened.
Him showing the A makes it hard for me to believe he has AK,unless he is just SUPER passive
Would have bet more ott. The Ace either makes a hand that hates the Ace hesitant to put anything else in, or it makes a hand that hits the Ace be willing to put anything in.
Hero is 250bb deep, are we really folding this river for $65 getting 4-1... The only hand that beats us is AK, and this line looks pretty weak for AK. Is it possible? Yes, but A8 is also possible as well as many other Ax 2p combos. The fact that v shows the ace eliminates a ton of Kx hands that beat us.
For v to have AK, it means he originally limped in mp for $2 with AK...nowhere in op's description does it say v is a super nit
I could be wrong, but I just don't see how this is a fold
Call. If he really called both your flop and turn bets in such bad shape with AK, give him the rest of it. For $65, less than the combined price of his two terrible calls, I'm not folding.
