H - first hand back from a break. Posted and dealt J9hh in HJ position with $460 stack

Everyone covers me except one OMC, table was weak-loose and bluffy when I left.

Limps to MP2 who raises to $25, player in between folds and I am now to MP2s direct left. I call speculatively as I see 2 others prepare to call and cause a cascade of calls.

7 to the flop
Pot - $175

And a dream flop of
9d9cJc

MP2 bets $120

I am pretty sure club draws will continue to call and any trip 9 will call as well. Usually torn between raising and calling here.
H?

Super easy call. Why would you want to push anyone out of this pot? Players with outs are likely to only have 2 or 3 outs so there is no reason to protect. MP2 is building the pot for us An added benefit of calling is that someone else may raise behind us.

Fold pre.

As played, call and let the bluffy table do the work for you. No need to scare people.

Fold pre, call down. Ship river if necessary.

The only argument to raise here is to avoid another club coming and kill your action.

But with these stack sizes + bloated pot with 7 players + table reads, this is a standard call spot. MP2 betting into 6 other players really looks like QQ+, minimum AJ.

Call here and hope the someone drawing comes along.

Ideally, call in a way that represents a flush draw. Against some players, that means calling quickly, as if you didn't even consider raising, like you might with a 9x hand trying to protect against draws.

Agree with calling here for sure. Pot will be huge when you call and you can easily get the money in on the turn/river. By raising you just discourage non 9X hands to call/raise. If everyone was deeper raising may be alright.

Thanks for the response everybody,

Usually in these situations I either freeze up and overbet to avoid missing out on the action (bigger pot or getting outdrawn to lose or split). I end up making moves without thinking and based on fears.

That's my biggest leak and these answers will help me reason it out next time.

I ended up calling and a short stack went AI (mucked when I showed) and all others including original Flop bettor folded.

Call. Raising narrows our range to 9x and boats. I don't think we would be raising a draw on this board.

Grunch.

Calling pre-flop is quite marginal IMO when your playing a <100BB stack. Flop is a pretty clear call IMO. You will have absolutely no problems getting stacks in by the river if you just flat, plus by raising you will likely get a bunch of draws and one pair type hands to fold.

snap call it, like you have a straight draw or a Jx type hand
