2/5 underground game.

V - (550ish) middle aged successful buisnessman. solid. conservative. never spewy. plays for the mental challenge and entertainment value. small winner in the game.

H - (covers) neutral image. has shown small bluffs in very small pots where no one really cares.

OTTH - bad reg raises to 20. V on the button makes it 45. Hero flats in the BB with KK spade club. bad reg calls.

flop K diamond 9 hearts 4 clubs. (135)

Hero?

How is the bad reg 'bad'? Does he bet too much/call too much? What kind of range are you as singing the BTN when he min raises pre?

Readless this is a check but depending on their tendencies this could call for a small lead otf.

Check. Your hand is pretty well concealed but is probably seen as tight - AK, maybe AQs and PPs. Range will be confined to AK+ against main villain pretty soon. Might as well give him the opportunity to put in one c-bet or give a free card to 2 and 3 outers that can catch up to second-best.

What's the next decision?

his 20 open is all pocket pairs and suited broadways. nothing wrong with that, but his play after the flop is bad.

button 3 bet I am assigning KK+ and maybe AK. He might be trying to iso bad reg and take it away from him on most flops, but since he was not that deep, I ranged him on a value hand.

Check, let the BTN bet, we call, hope to have the bad reg spazz. We have an SPR of about 4, it's not gonna be hard to get all the $ in regardless.
