Blinds are $1-$2 with an optional $4 UTG straddle, game is $2-$100 spread-limit (max you can raise is $100 over the previous bet). Most of the table is quite deep, average stack over $300. I have $350.

HAND: I am in the $4 UTG straddle. MP opens to $12, CO calls, Button calls, Big Blind calls, we call with 85hh to close the action.

FLOP: 9d7c6h (pot: $60, 5-ways).

BB (stack of $400) immediately donk leads for $60.

Is my hand a call or a raise?

Definitely a flat in no limit, but I think in spread limit with the pot already this big, you should probably treat it like a limit hand and just raise/bet max at every opportunity until showdown.

Oh also, An orbit who I had this hand history versus the Big Blind (he was once again the BB—he’s to my immediate right):

I Raise 87ss UTG, only the blinds call. Flop T62cc. Xx i bet 20 only BB calls. Turn Qc. He checks I bet 50 he folds. I show.

Flat call flop to invite others behind to come along. Spring the trap by max-betting or max-raising turn.

Stop doing this.

RESULT: I went with a raise to $160, both because I’m unblocking all his sets/2-pair continues AND because I’d just shown him a big bluff. But the former is the more important one—I would just call with, for instance, 99 on 952. I play straights much much faster than any other nut hands.

Unfortunately, everyone folds.

In game I probably flat, I usually want the bet to get to the pfr without stirring the pot too much. Also, if everyone folds you now have position in a HU pot. I get why you want to play str8s faster, but again, I would rather win more money in the pots I play versus winning more pots.
