1/2, eight handed, good old boys, mix of players (tight, loose/passive) but nobody is very good.

V, OBG, ($125), calls very wide pre and flop; bets what he perceives to be a good hand; will call w/ second/third nuts.
H, MAWW, covers, one of the most aggressive at the table and on the tighter side, but they might think I'm too aggressive. However, most of them are just playing their hands, so doesn't really matter.

Three limps to H on BTN and I limp w/ 97o. No need to raise here, and I don't mind seeing a flop in position. SB completes, V in BB checks.

Flop (~$10): 568r, bingo. Checks to H who bets $10. SB folds, V calls, others fold.

Turn (~$25) 568 8r. V bets $15. I know he has at least an 8. There is no way he is betting w/o one. Do I raise (I'm pretty sure he calls a naked 8) or call?

Fold pre. 100% of the time.
Flop is fine
Turn seems like a raise to $40ish, soul read on a jam but lean towards call
If turn gets called, bet most rivers

I fold pre but that's just me.

I'd much rather raise than flat, if it was suited I can justify a flat.

As played I would call the turn, we have position so rather than fold him out I would just call (he can also have us beat too anyway) then if he checks the river we can safely value bet.

I prefer a call and see what he does on the river.

Based on the read and villain's line this seems a lot like bare trips, and this is not the player type to fold trips. So raise and look to get the rest on the river. I'd have a hard time folding the straight at this stack depth, even with the "don't go broke" rule in mind.

I understand all of the folds pre, and I often do, but I had the button and figured I'd see a flop for $2 in position w/ one-gappers. I will raise sometimes, but usually do fold.

Based on your description, I'd raise. Doubtful he's trying to range you at all, and even if he is, he probably won't give you 97.

Rec-fish will tend to think aggro player is just being aggro and getting out of line with air. Trip 8's seems like a good hand to take to war, so I'd expect him to be coming back over the top a lot.

If he slow played flop with top set and turned quads, I'd light the 97 on fire and quit poker.

Easy raise, get it in. This guy is never folding an 8. He might even think A6 is the nuts because he "doesnt put you on an 8" and you must be bluffing. I play with these types of players all the time and they will stack off w the most random stuff and have no understanding of even their own hand strength, let alone what hero's range is.

Results: I just called and was kicking myself for flatting. However, the river is the last 8, he shoves, and I snap fold. He shows quads for a high hand promotion. LOL. Play bad (me) and get lucky sometimes, because I'm sure he would have called my raise.

Get it in on turn run it twice but only the second board counts and scoop ez game
