Hero ???

The only information I have about the player is that he is an older Asian gentleman. When fires the third barrel on the river is it a sign to give up or because it is now less likely he has a Q to call off? Should I have not been in this situation in the first place?

Folding the turn against described older gentleman. His range is crushing you, keeping putting money in the pot here out of position is mostly lightening money on fire.

You shoudnt be seing the river, in my opinion but once we are here we got to think about the situation: villain have fired 3 barrells at you on this board. Easy fold.

I'd likely c-bet this OTF, or c/f. C/c is not a place I really want to be on this wet board.

AP, second pair, second kicker, is a fold OTT. It's a turbo fold OTR, even with the additional Q coming. The only thing you beat is an unlikely J9s. The rest of his range still has you crushed.

River is not an easy or turbo fold, we beat tx hands including jt, t9, not to mention flush draws. J9 was counterfeited.

Even though villain doesn't seem particularly bluffy, for this price, it is rather tempting. I think call should be ok.

Against a totally unknown opponent I probably just fold the flop. Against opponents you have a read on there are a lot that calling is better. Against an unknown your just not going to know what to do for the rest of the hand most of the time and I find it better to just avoid these marginal situations against blank slate opponents. There are not a lot of cards that are good for you on the turn because a K is dangerously likely to be dirty.

You shouldn't be getting to the river often because folding flop and folding turn are both viable plays. Having gotten to the river your just bluff catching and need to fold a lot but not necessarily every time.

I don't like betting this flop. The problem is that the board is both wet and likely to have hit calling ranges. So you have gained little information when you get called.

I actually think a call isn’t terrible (loose and light, but not terrible). I can see more AK and JT type hands in range with this line that over pairs or sets. AQ is the hand we’re most likely to get shown OTR. Coin flipper for me OTR.

I mean we have a nice calling hand on the river, right? Block KT, JJ, QJ. Outside of rivered trips this might be our best call.

Of course it’s questionable if we should even be here. I hate HJ open flat generally, but live poker and everyone does it. Besides that it’s pretty good if hero is in such a questionable spot with a holding like this. Half pot is a challenging size on this texture with the kind of hands I’d expect we show up with.

Generally I think they’ll be underbluffing, though, and that we should fold
