Just wrote a simple function that calculates the longest expected stretch of card ..uhh...deadness.
Inputs:
1. your VPIP (I used 20%)
2. number of hands (used 100,000)
3. time per hand (I used 3 minutes, ie. live play)
... For ten iterations I get the following values (in hours): [2.25, 2.15, 2.5, 2.15, 2.5, 3.0, 2.25, 2.15, 2.4, 2.9]
So roughly 2.5 hours would be the longest you should expect to not see a playable hand if you played 100,000 hands and VPIP 20%.
