I've been sitting down at 1/2 table for a half hour, and one particular opponent has shoved me all in when I raised him both times, once pre and once post flop. Believing I must be behind I folded the best hand twice, which I know since my opponent showed me his hand. Villain is not especially loose, but not tight either.

Now for the hand in question:

Utg goes all in with a short stack of $10
I have AQ Utg+1 and 3bet to $35, which leaves me with $165 in my stack
Hyper aggressive opponent goes all in for $200 from the cutoff

I believe that villian likely has AK, JJ+, absolutely nothing, or a medium pocket pair. Since I have an Ace and a Queen, I am leaning towards either JJ, KK, or a medium pocket pair. All of which I am behind, so once again I fold. Villain turns over AJ. It's obvious in retrospect I should have called, but at the time of the decision should I have called or did I make the right decision and fold?

Reads: You should be able to remember the hands where Villain bluffed you, exactly. Without knowing this a lot of responses you get in this thread may be kinda useful since it sounds like a meta game situation. Or, at least, a situation where we don't know enough about how this guy plays.

PF: I'd this were a bigger raise from UTG I'd understand ISOing the Villain with AQ, but unless your normal game is to 3bet this UTG raise I'd rather flat.

Against the 4bet you need to say why this guy is a hype aggressive player. What has he done specifically for you to call him that? In a vacuum this was obviously a bad fold assuming your rolled for the game. And if your not, then you shouldn't be 3!ing.

Thanks. The game was only a half hour in, so reads were not extensive. But the two hands he pushed off all he had was Ace high on the post flop hand with a 10 kicker. Preflop he 4 bet me with 66. Another hand he raise to $10, a person in the blinds came over the top for $80, and he called with QJs

Against a gambolly Villain like this 100bb deep, AQ is gold pf, and you'd have to pry it from my cold, dead hands. Play around in PokerStove and see for yourself how AQ does against various wide ranges.

Villain won't last more than 4 hrs.. Wait for ur spot.. Didn't understand ur of raise & bet size intentions though. I would try to evaluate his post flop lines and leaks more and would try to make him do post flop mistakes.

I think ur fold is std and u Dont have to gamble with a gold mine

I fold here but knowing how wild villan is I would be ready to call his allins with a better hand preflop or on a flop that hits you.

How much was the 4-bet to on the 66 hand?

Given this additional information/history, I think I call here.

Against described villain i am not folding AQ to him. Its all about observing his aggressive tendencies and assign him a reasonable range. He has moved you off twice before with his allin moves, so he likely are feeling now that he can push you around: wich he by the way are correct about because you are folding to him once again with AQ.

When i face 3 bet happy villains and players that are more aggressive than the average player you need to be able to adjust- or they will simply run you over, again and again.
