Fair enough. Fish are better off the smaller their stack and if we're playing this badly when we're tired, loss preservation is far better.

At that point we should obviously just be leaving, but I'm not perfect either and can't say I've never been that guy sticking in his last 10BB with ATo.

20 yrs ago I thought this
as I was there and wanted to play not walk away.

Over those years I have learned the best way to preserve and protect your bankroll and stack is to pick up and walk away;
not to play your b or c game short stacked.

this only leads to one positive thing
ON YOUR WAY OUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO STAND IN LINE TO CASH OUT!

Plug this leak and watch the WR climb , I used to just get short and punt off the stack with the "run it up or bust" strategy ; Never again lol

For sure, it's definitely a leak I'm working on. If I know I'm playing badly enough that I don't rebuy, then I should be leaving.

Yes playing with a baby stack and minimizing our upside when we finally get dealt a premium is exactly the way to maximize our edge against droolers.

I'm not advocating playing shorter than deeper as a general rule.

I'm simply pointing out that we're tired and butchering about the simplest spot we can have (premiums are far easier to play shortstacked, FWIW), and yet everyone is advocating to BI deeper. In our state, obviously the best advice is to quit, but the nut low advice is to BI deeper.
