I don't want to be results orientated, but in this specific case after seeing the flop this hand wasn't going to play out any other way. Top 2 (Villain 2) pair short stacked was never folding. Nut Flush (Villain 1) draw (and picks up top pair on the turn) was never folding.
It wasn't even clear if any of your outs were clean. If either had J9 (drawing to a double gutter), you were drawing to a chop with a 5, and the smaller straight with a 10.
Its one of those situations where we see the flop and salivate thinking "zomg, look at that flop" (and start to play only level 1 poker) yet forget to stop and assess the situation, assign ranges, and realize that going to war with a trouble hand can sometimes lead to getting yourself in trouble.
