Here are some general notes I quickly wrote while playing 1/2NL live. Looking for general commentary.

I have no idea how some of you can recount such details when posting hand history. I can barely remember anything about the hand 15 seconds after its over. No clue who bet when, or even what the flop cards were, etc. Here is all the detail I have:
  1. When you're at a 5 man table, how do you adjust your game? Expand the range, I know. Anything more specific?
  2. Dealt 33. 2 people bet/call before me. I folded. Right move?
  3. Dealt J9o. Limped for $2. Someone raises $8. I folded.
  4. Dealt pocket 10s. Guy kept betting $20. Kept calling. I was beat by pocket AA.
  5. Dealt pocket 10s. 2 bets before me. $25 to me. I folded. (both had small stacks or were all in)
  6. Dealt AQo. I raise $10. Flop comes 7 9 10. Villain bet's $20. I fold.
  7. Dealt QJo. I flop 2 pair. Flop and turn are: 10 J Q A. Villain goes all in. I fold.

1. this depends on table dynamics alot, generally im looking to steal blinds more assuming the table isnt super loose. position because somewhat less important and your hand strength increases the less people are at the table. for example while A10 is marginal in FR at 5 handed it may very well be the best hand at the table.
2. Again this kind of depends on if it is a bet or a call. make sure to account for stack depth when looking to setmine.
3. dont even bother limping this. probably a leak.
4.hard to evaluate without a hand history.
5. If you have a 3bet in front of you and the stacks are short or AI you don't have any implied odds and are probably beat. good fold.
6. standard.
7. standard.

Try to write trouble hands down, I think DGIharris has a thread where he shows a quick notation system he uses.

Seems like you're still a beginner going over some fundamental questions...you're on here and trying to improve your game so kudos to you!!! shows initiative...

I would avoid short handed games at this point but answering your 1st question...yes you should be opening up your preflop raising range when you're in a short handed game.

Not going to answer your questions since there's not any history, hand descriptions, and/or table dynamics with villains but here are some helpful tips for playing winning ABC 1/2 NL:

1. You should make sure you're playing premium cards in late position and come in raising. Want to be playing an extremely TAG strategy starting out.
2. Avoid limping in early and middle position...hands such as QJo or J9o. Basically fight to have position on players and learn to isolate by raising.
3. Majority of players at 1/2 are losing players...you'll make more money by doing the opposite of what you see them doing...same as in life. They play too many hands and limp too much.
4. 3 bet with only AKs, QQ+.
5. If you can't remember your hands....start writing them down on a pad of paper during your game or put notes in your phone.
6. Label your players when you sit down into 1 of 4 categories: tight-passive, loose-passive, tight-aggressive, loose-aggressive...make a mental note of players you see a bluff from.

Could go on for a long time but I'll just make a suggestion instead as de4df1sh did....go to dgiharris's thread "typical donkalicious hands"....this is an excellent source for fundamentals at these stakes.

OSU, I play somewhat tight. These were the only hands I played in about 4 hours of play. I did write these notes down on a pad after the hand. This was all the detail I had time to write down. I have started to read that other thread. Seeing bad decisions helped me to improve.
