1/3 at the local casino, UTG+1 (villain) opened the table with me about 4 hours ago, seems like a decent player. Stack of about $200, hero covers. CO is a fish with a small stack.

Villain is UTG+1 and limps, CO limps, I look down at K9o on the BTN and raise to $15, UTG+1 and CO call. I don't always play this aggressive on the button but I was taking down a ton of pots preflop all night and getting away with stealing from the blinds and limpers.

Flop ($49): K 9 4 rainbow. Checks around, I check as well. Looking back I guess a bet would be good here but I obviously felt great about my hand and thought a slow play would be best here.

Turn ($49): K 9 4 10. Checks to hero, I bet $30, UTG+1 calls, CO folds.

River ($109): K 9 4 10 10. Villain shoves for remaining $100. Hero?

Definitely betting flop, $15-$20. As played, fold. Very hard to come up with bluffs for V, and with the flop checking through he can have plenty of 10x.

I would fold river. It's a rather pained fold but between hands that beat you and hands you chop with there isn't much left. Villain has to be making some sort of spazz bluff for you to be winning.

I would also bet this flop multiway. Heads up it's dry enough to check but multiway go ahead and bet. Really, multiway as the preflop raiser I would not slow play anything weaker then top set on a dry board.

I would just fold preflop. If only a non-short fish limped then more reason for getting slightly out-of-line here. But with already two limpers, one of them being good, and with the fish being short (shouldn't be isolating with weak hands when short), then very meh, imo. If we absolutely must get into the pot with the fish in position then I'd rather overlimp in these conditions.

SPR is ~4 against the deeper stack (and much shorter against the fish) and we've got top two pair, so we're committed for stacks, imo (this is another reason I don't like raising preflop as it raises commitment issues right away, which we mostly almost never want to be with this hand). Board is pretty dry, so I'd mostly aim to get in stacks with three sucky ~1/2 PSBs. Really don't like the check back, especially with the fish in the hand who'll likely pay a price to see the hand develop.

I'm fine with the turn.

You're stacks are way off; Villain should have $155 left, not $100 (if he only has $100 left it then it makes preflop even worse, imo). There is a busted QJ, but overall I'd mostly lean to fold because most underbluff in general especially when the aggressor (us) has a shortish stack that likely ain't going to fold.

Basically any broadway cards got there. Should have been AI earlier. Don’t care either way now, call or fold.

People are more likely to pay off the flop than the turn or river. Hence I would've bet the flop pretty big in order to get at least 1 street of value.

Bet $40 on flop.

AP, River is a fold

Never slowplay 2 pair or worse.

Pre is bad in a vacuum but I guess if they were just folding a lot and you were likely to take down $10 right there it's good.

Flop is lol bad. If you're going to play junky hands aggressively, bet your occasional monsters FFS. Not like you have this locked down with KK9 rainbow.

River is a fold from me dawg.

I like the way you played the turn.

Agreed as a general rule (player dependent of course). I would have moved in on the turn with the stack sizes.
