We've got one for May coming soon. Still looking for June and beyond.

Be like water has been done, as has player profiling (hint, there's a list of all the past COTMs as the OP ITT, with links, even).

How to loosen up a table might be a good subject. I expect it would be more of a series of tips than anything more cosmic, but COTMs don't all have to be CallMeVernon math dissertations.

Yup, i just wanted to put it out there, and if it sounds interesting it would be fun to write something up.

You are correct that i cant match Vernons high level theoretical analysis- but that would probably not fit into the topic loosening up a table either, neither is it my style

I feel that i have some good tips and insight when it comes to the skillset needed to create a positive gambooly table atmosphere that raises the value/EV. Its just as much about personal skills/behaviour than poker skills.

If it raises any response in this thread or if the mods think this topic will have some value to the forum, i am up for it.

So this month's COTM flaked. We've had a great record I'd hate to see die, so does anyone have a concept they want to throw out there? Gilmour, is your idea one you could write-up in a hurry? If no one steps up, I'll just write one myself, so any requests of a topic you'd like me to write on?

Looking for an author for a COTM on C-betting. I got a request for a thread on when to, and when not to c-bet.

Aside from whether or not to c-bet, the thread would cover stuff like:
If we c-bet, do we double/triple barrel and on what cards
If we check, what do we do when bet into on turn?
If we check and are checked to again on turn when do we delay c-bet?

My notion is that we'd start with a theory post that covers these issues in general, and then folks could questions/thoughts on c-betting, including HHs for discussion.

Hey y'all, I noticed there hasn't been a concept of the month since March. I'd like to write one under the working title "In Defence of the Min-Raise" in which I'd like to get into the three spots I think that the min-raise can be employed effectively in LLSNL 1) With the stone cold nuts, 2) as a bluff, and 3) for advertising for later. I think that 2015 is going to be for the min-raise what 2014 was for the limp raise AA/KK/AKs.

This would be met with some derision. Be prepared.

That is fine, most great ideas in history have been met with derision. I really have thought about it and seen a lot of posts where people don't know what to do with a min raise (or their read is completely wrong.) Been incorporating it into my game since February and it has upped my hourly.

We have a COTM for August upcoming. While I'm not adamantly opposed to your idea, it seems more like an aspect of bet-sizing than a complete concept in-and-of itself.

Would there be any benefit to a COTM on analyzing hands off the table? I feel like everyone says they can do it. A few actually do it, and most pretend that they do. It's a chapter in just about every book there is though so I dont know iftheres value there.

Still working on doing one under the working title, "In Defence of the Min-Raise: a Dickwiggle Disquisition." Looking to take some content from an ebook I bought the rights to, from the estate of a friend. May publish the book as the advice in there is taylored to the live 1/2-5/10 game from the perspective of a guy who played live poker professionally from 1987-2008 in vegas and in home games throughout Ohio. He died busto and buying the book was pretty much a charity thing at the time but since the feds stepped in, i think I can make some dough off the book now and recoup my 3000 at least.

Feel free to write it up, but as a new poster whose reputation as a writer and for strat is shaky, I'd want you to run it by some of the experience COTMs before I'd commit to it as one.

If you just want to write it up as a theory thread, you're welcome to do that any time.

Theory as in the theory forum or post in this forum under a non-cotm title?

In this forum is fine. Just post it as "Theory: Title of thread." There aren't a ton of these, but we get them from time to time. Please don't make it troll bait, or it will devolve rapidly.

Would love to see an "analyzing hands off the table" COTM. I recently posted a request for such in OurSurveySays's great PC&G thread, in case you're interested.

anything to do with studying would probably be very beneficial.

^ My play to study ratio is absurdly out of whack, though I guess it depends what you consider "study." If 2+2 is study, I'm balanced, but in terms of reading books, working with Equilab (which sadly to say, I never do), I am way behind.

I think a COTM on off table analysis would be a great one. It is clear that almost everyone posting doesn't know what's involved in doing it.

I'd temp ban the trolls, but a COTM on quitting the dream of being a poker pro would also be a good one. Don't think there's enough meat for a min-raise COTM. If it was folded into a bet sizing COTM, that would work.

I'd love to see someone tackle:

Double barreling when picking up additional equity vs. double barreling air when pressuring a weak range vs. when checking behind unimproved is best

Kind of an addendum to the c-bet COTM
