I don't chop. Forget keeping it friendly. If not chopping upsets people, then I'm more than happy to paint a target on my back. It might be "poor etiquette" or whatever, but I play to make money and on the whole, live players are going to be so much worse than online... so take the edge. duh.

I don't guess you've been reading. Unless you both flop a hand and build a pot, rake will tear into your profit.

At higher limits or time charge games, it totally makes sense to play bvb, but at 1/2 or 1/3 with 10%+1bbj, it's almost always +Ev (or neutral Ev, I guess) to just chop.

Quick example: you min-raise from SB, BB folds, dealer takes $1 for rake, gives you the other $1. You've now risked $3 to make $1. Does that make sense? Is that move profitable long-term?

Never chop unless you are the worse player.

There is rarely a rake if the pot is < $10. Regardless I still like chopping because if you see a flop and there is a bet and call, they will usually be taking 10% and that eats into your bottom line very quickly heads up.

I agree with the UTG straddle...but what about the button straddle?

You min-raise in live games? As far as your rake assessment goes... maybe you don't play in Nevada (?)
