This is a thread i was commenting(not my hand) and there was a bit of a dispute on whether you can cbet or not. What do you guys think?

Played this hand at 2/5, buy-in for 100bb. We are effective stack at 700. V1 covers us 3x, we cover V2 (525).

I open KKdh utg to 20 and we get 5 callers. (20 was standard raise, just unfortunate we are going this many ways).

Flop comes Q94ddx. We check, V1 bets 50, V2 calls, and we call.

Turn 2h putting heart draw on board (we block both draws). Check, V1 bets 100. V2 raises to 275. We?

I know that they have Qx+ but maybe a set of 4's? If I was heads up I don't think I would be so hesitant to stack off, but 3 ways with so much aggression post, I had a tough time making a decision.

V1- good player, super out of line earlier, but been in-line since, looks like he has one pair. V2- we have played some monster pots against him and I have stacked him 3x in the last 3 sessions (I did cooler him) and he is playing for revenge, he made that clear when I sat at the table.

What do you do?

Weird spot since it’s 5 ways. I don’t think either option is bad. In a vacuum I’m betting more than I’m checking but it depends on the lineup. I also think check raise flop is a good option.

As played I’m probably jamming turn.

With that many people in the hand I'm always betting flop unless I plan to check/raise. There are lots of reasons for this. Thinning the field, charging draws and getting information all play in betting flop. Also you can't be deceptive in a hand like this, when you check/call the flop your range is pinned at TPTK+ or draws. So checking rarely gives you a chance to get more money in the pot later or bluff at the hand.
