I am. Not only is the US one of the richest countries in the world, it also has some of the most lax regulations when it comes to the live game. In contrast, in many countries in Europe you cannot play and if you can play, the rake is high due to taxation. Also, while you can find high stakes game in places like Macau, or Australia or New Zealand, in most cases you don't have the same plethora of options as the US.
having said that, the other difference with online is that online you trade lower winrates for the ability to play more hands and get rakeback. So while live you might be winning 20BB/100 at 5/10, but you re only playing 30 hands an hour, whereas online you might be winning 4BB/100, but you can be playing 600-800 hands an hour while getting anywhere from 20-50% rakeback. So the difference financially isn't as big as it looks initially.
