Can 5/10 reg sit down and destroy NL200 online? What are your opinions guys? With average winrate of 7bb/hr for over 5k hrs should given reg starting lower or higher when transitioning from live to online?

Depends what is the live 5/10 game they are playing and winning in and which 200nl do they plan to play online?

But generally speaking I'd say no.

The simple amount of serious players online compared to IRL tables is soooo high lol

I'm slightly shocked with your answers. So why so many people force themselves to play such a tough games online (NL200) to win $200-$500 a day, when 5/T live reg can do easily $700-$1k a day? (long term EV ofc)

Because most people who play online do not live in the United States and most 5/10 live is played in the United States.

Are you sure about that? Here in Macau we have plenty of those stakes 24/7, Philippines and Singapore less, but also 24/7.

There may be better mid-high stakes games in Macau than the US. I think Ivey and Durr went over there at some point. That is not true in most places.

Access to games/convenience and ability to put in volume.

I live 30min away from a super soft game, but most times it's just easier to fire up the laptop even if I'm playing 10x smaller stakes.

I am. Not only is the US one of the richest countries in the world, it also has some of the most lax regulations when it comes to the live game. In contrast, in many countries in Europe you cannot play and if you can play, the rake is high due to taxation. Also, while you can find high stakes game in places like Macau, or Australia or New Zealand, in most cases you don't have the same plethora of options as the US.

having said that, the other difference with online is that online you trade lower winrates for the ability to play more hands and get rakeback. So while live you might be winning 20BB/100 at 5/10, but you re only playing 30 hands an hour, whereas online you might be winning 4BB/100, but you can be playing 600-800 hands an hour while getting anywhere from 20-50% rakeback. So the difference financially isn't as big as it looks initially.

5/10 live is probably more equivalent to .50/1 online - most 5/10 ers would be losers in a 200 NL online game in today's environment.

I play up to 10/25 professionally, occasionally with a 50 straddle or more. I also play 200NL online. The only way to beat 200 NL imo is to study with solvers and grind up to 200 NL from lower stakes after you prove you are winning at the next lowest stakes. Or just lose a ton at 200 NL.

I have a very modest win rate at 200NL over 65-70k hands.

If you aren't already regularly beating like 50NL online, you are going to get crushed at 200 NL even if you are crushing live 5/10.

You learned how to exploit live players. Exploiting online players is just way different. You have to work much harder to get a much smaller edge.

I was beating PLO 200 and NL 200 on Global poker before the games dried up, but struggle on ACR low stakes - so I think it depends on the site you are playing on as well. And by beating them I won a little over 10k, which I think a 50 buy in profit is beating the games. This was before they added rakeback so I dunno how the games are now.
