NLHE 1/2 9-handed (timed rake in Texas)

400 eff.

UTG+1 open limps. LJ limps. No reads on them.

CO raises to 17. He’s a thinking player who just started a YouTube channel. He is recording his hands Brad Owen style.

I call with Ac Jc. Any case for folding or 3-betting?

BB folds. Limpers call.

Flop ($70): Qd Qc Ts

Checks around.

Turn ($70): Qs Qc Td 6s

3 checks. Pfr bets 15.

Action on me. Is this small bet worth a call?

Man I'm trying to figure out what position you're in but I must be ****ed cause I have no idea. Regardless, prob shoulda 3bet pre and prob shoulda bet either flop or turn depending on where you're at.

Betting $100 on the turn is lighting money on fire. You know nothing about the limpers' range or hand strength, only that they checked to the PFR on the flop.

You could accomplish the same with a $30 bet OTT.

Check fold turn. I can get behind a btn flat with AJs but oop you should really be 3b or fold.

3-bet or fold does seem good but isn't AJs decent post-flop if limpers are usually going to call? Or is worst position such a disadvantage?

Preflop, you’re way ahead of the CO’s opening range, so definitely 3 bet 4x to 60 because you are oop. Oop, your call makes playing post flop difficult. If you instead three bet and get called, and you have some equity on the flop, then make a continuation bet of 1/3 pot.

AP, you’ve lost control of the hand and potential fold equity.

Go for the vlog appearance and CR the turn and bluff the river if need be. He's very unlikely to have much.

He was PFR and last to act post, if I have it right. If he flopped trips or a boat he should be trying to get some money in 4 ways. Trip queens could also use a little protection 4 ways. Tens full needs to make sure it gets all in against a Q. There are also draws to target.

Now he bets like 1/4 pot after checking the flop. So, what, he flopped huge and is trying to win like a $70 pot and allow all the draws to get there? I doubt it. Also, as a vlog guy, he is going to be raising all kinds of stuff over limpers preflop IP and you block AQ and QJ.

I think he most likely has a weaker 10 or some kind of crappy draw or 88 or something like that. Now that everyone has checked twice, time to just take it down rather than give hands like AJ another free card.

If you flopped big, it would be expected that you check the flop. Checking the turn is less common, but not unheard of, especially 4 ways when you are first to act. The other Vs in the hand have shown weakness as well so you probably won't run into trips from them. From his POV the chances 1 of 3 Vs has a Q or 66 or something is pretty good.

The rest of the hand went like this:

I called. UTG+1 check-raised to 55. CO called. I folded.

The river was a Q.

UTG+1 bet. CO raised all-in and got called.

CO had Qh Jh. UTG+1 didn't show but full house seems very likely.
