1/2NL Hero is in LP with 66 with 215, calls raise of 8 knowing people will call behind. Table is full of fairly drunk, loose passive older men (60+) but the alcohol has brought out the gamble in them. One man in particular has been passive preflop, but betting 25 into 7 dollar pots with TP bad kicker and showing. Hoping to get into a hand with him.

Two calls behind and drunk overbettor pops it to 31. Folds to me and I think about it for 10 seconds, fold thinking of his normal passive preflop action. Gets one caller, flop is A69hh and he bets 120 (lol). I curse in my mind for not calling, my friend in seat next to me says bottom set is a CLEAR fold even if I stayed in. He showed after other guys folds, what you do you guys think?

Ill tell you what he flashed a little later.

He hasn't 3bet all night but raises/calls only. I argued with my friend because I would have gotten it in there, and my friend says its a clear fold (2/5 winning player).

Ok, you're obviously going to say "ZOMG he had AA!". But your PF fold was correct first off... However, if I made it to the flop, I'm never ever ever EVER folding here. If you're folding flopped sets on semi dry boards in raised pots then you're not playing poker.

This guy is almost always slow playing his 99 and AA here not betting 120 into 60.

The reason he is betting 25 into 7 with his top pair weak kicker hands is because he is almost positive he has the best hand here and is terrified of someone drawing out on him. He is content with winning the $7 now.

He probably has a hand like AJ AQ AK here and you would have almost certainly doubled up. I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up with Ace-rag

If the spewtard drunk aggro old man overbetter happens to set over set me here it's a pretty sick cooler. Never folding

Maybe I'm wrong but if this guy played AA or 99 like this it is the anomaly of all anomalies

I agree, if you are folding a set here you shouldn't be playing poker unless you have some sort of soulread. Like I said, he never 3-bet so AA seemed more likely. I told my friend next to me I folded 66 and he said you would have gone broke, he more often than not has top set here. Then he goes over to the old man and says "show us your set!" and sure enough, he flips over AA. Would have been a nice cooler but horrible way of looking at it, results oriented.
