2/5 with ~900 stacks

-UTG who is a loose player opens for 25
-MP and CO call
-Hero calls on the Button with 44

Flop(107): 747
-UTG c bets for 30
-MP and Hero call

Turn(197): 8
-UTG checks
-MP bets 125 and only Hero calls (This player likes to bet and I don't want to scare him away if he has a flush)

River(447): 9
-MP bets 310
-Hero..call or shove?

Before the river I was thinking of shoving if he bet around 200 but this is a bit of a bet sizing tell. I don't know if he'd bet this big on the river with just a 7 or his flushes.. Maybe his Ace and King high flushes. Could also have 87, 97, 88, 77 or 56.

What do you guys think?

Cheers!

Seems like he is hoping you have something big. I mean, as V, you're not really blasting the pot with a flush here and hoping someone calls you with JJ. I guess he could be targeting a 7, but that's not too likely.

On top of that, he has to call your shove over a huge bet on the river, which would be pretty bad on his part.

I don't think he both has a worse hand and calls with it over 50% of the time.

I like that the straight and flush both got there. I don’t like that 78 & 79 both boated up. This one is really close for me but I think a shove is +EV as lots of worse hands could think they’re value betting the river and then have to shrug call the river because of the pot odds. It’s thin, but I think there’s value to be had.

With $900 stacks, how in the world are we not raising this flop?

Yep. Stacks should be in or effectively in already

Raising the flop to just $100 would have eased the way to get stacks in.

OP would you raise the flop with 56c?

@Twitch I agree in hindsight. I ended up just calling and taking it down.

@Riley, yeah I would raise most of time with 56c

Thanks for the input guys.. I can see how raising the flop might be better here.

Cheers.

Bad advice. The time to raise is OTF and the size should never be MIN. Sounds like OP understands and will learn from this hand. My point was that if you are going to raise 56c or other strong draws you should balance them with made hands such as 7x and 44. Gl op
