Villian sat down in the last 2 orbits or so and hasn't done anything noteworthy. He's 30 or so and white. Bought in for $300 so he's probably not a clueless fish.

Hero has about $350 after buying in for $300. I haven't played a hand since V sat down.

Villain opens in EP for $7. Hero re-raises to $25 in MP with two red queens. Folds to V who calls.

Flop: 9 8 2 ($50)

V checks. Hero bets $40. V calls.

Turn: A

V checks, hero checks behind. Should I fire again here? I don't know how many aces he has in his range after c/c the flop with this sizing.

V bets $30 on the river. Hero cries a little and calls.

Since the board is a bit drawy I'd probably b/f $50 on the turn and then check behind on the river assuming we don't improve. As played call is fine.

I can't remember for sure. It wasn't a heart. I think it was a 10.

Seems hard for him to be bluffing here, but the river sizing is such that a call is in order. I wouldn't remove Ax from his range, as there are some players who frequently station cbets with ace high, so the check behind is fine, though due to board texture, I don't mind another barrel.

I might be lighting money on fire but I think Im betting $40 or $50 on the turn.

I really doubt he comes over the top off the turn bet and if he does, easy fold.
If I bet $50 on the turn, and he calls, he is more likely to check the river and we can safely check back.

I think by checking the turn it gives the opportunity for Villain to bet River for a bluff or value and we put ourselves into a difficult decision.

Don't waste your money on the barrel. The only hand he could realistically fold on the turn that we are behind is KK. If he is on the heart draw he will just check down the river if he bricks. Opponents like these never bluff so we don't have to worry about being exploited.

Hard to range opponent here but My guess is that he has Ax of hearts A9 or A8. You said the river was a 10? That completes draws and 2 pair combos that are easily in opponents range. Im folding the river.

if we bet the turn it's for value

Same bet on the turn for value - Assuming a pretty large fishy range that can ck-call sizable 40 on the flop that still might include AJ+/Axhh, but also theres lots of stubborn pairs, JT/JQ/JK stuff that will either call/fold when you bet turn small as well as sets that slow play, but just a minor concern since you're not going for 3 streets and are usually folding to any aggression. No need to size large as you'll be narrowing his calling range to much toward stuff that beats you. Keep him nice and wide and eval River.

AP, just call river. You showed weakness so V could be betting JT that made a pair small or just betting AJ that got there for some value...but you're going to lose SD a lot
