Bad luck or bad play? Bad luck or bad play?

I'm going to say this was bad luck but I could of won the hand, so maybe bad play could be involved as well.

Basically hero is dealt 54 on BTN with 100BB stacks - whole table limps $3 - I decide to over limp on BTN.

Flop a dream 736

$24 pot - checks to me - I bet $15 - BB (this guy is pretty aggressive) Raises to $50

I just call

Turn is Q - he jams for $106 - I call

River 3 - he has AT

Now I clearly got bad beat - I had a 95% lock on the hand, but had I raised the flop I would of won, and I think a lot of turn cards are going to be bad for me if he has a hand like 88, although he does kind of commit himself to shove any turn, so would you play it like I did, fold pre, or raise flop?

Brutal.

Re-raise the flop all day, too many turn cards kill your action. If you fold out 78 or 67 so be it.

Bet at least $20 OTF. When he plays back at you move in.

I don't see a problem here. If he is willing to get it in on this turn he is probably shipping any ace or ten too so let him spaz into you. Wp imo

I probably also can't help but overlimp here, but I'm treading cautiously in a lot of RIO situations.

I pot the flop. Against the world, we really don't want to see the flush card come (can kill our action or get ourselves into a sick RIO spot), so lets just jam things while we have the nuts. You know who calls for $15 but not for $25 on this flop? Absolutely no one. So pot it and get action from the hands you were going to get action from.

This guy just check/raised from the blinds with the world to react behind him; this is pretty strong. A crapload of cards can kill the action. Just realized he only has $100 left and pot already has that; super easy jam at this point. I originally thought he was $300 deep to start hand, and even in that case I think a jam is probably the best play. With just $100 left, it's a no brainer. I hate flatting here against this strength with so many bad turn cards.

Turn is obvious and runout is irrelevant.

ETA: I guess it turns out this guy is just an uber lol aggro, so knowing that I guess I can't hate as much on the flop flat, but I still think that might be being a little results oriented (i.e. he's really check/raising the world a lot here with A high?).

Looks good except for the suck out. Maybe click back the flop, you definitely want the action though, and all the money went in good the way you played it, so it's tough to even say that.

The only bad play is not rebuying.

oh i rebought - haha i was in the game for over $1000 that night - pretty much ran like aids.

I at least cashed out for $150 and didn't lose the total $1000

But pretty much all sorts of suck outs were happening but this one i felt like I could do something about

Looks good to me. You got your money in way ahead. If this particular V is c/r flop this light, then flatting is going to be way better than 3-betting with a nutted hand. Also, def make a note of how light he c/r flop for future hands.

I would raise flop but not for the same reason. Click it back to $90.
