Looking for feedback on this hand. Posting the hand in stages to get advice on both the turn and river.

UTG is a super fish calling station; range ATC; have played with him a lot. MP1 young asian kid; haven't played with him much. MP2 is a perpetual drunk fish; have played with him a lot.

$1/3 stakes

Hero - BB ($900)
UTG - ($1400)
MP1 - ($805)
MP2 - ($500)

Pre-Flop -- Pot ($4)
UTG, MP1, MP2 limp, Hero has AhQs off and raises to $23. UTG calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls.

Flop -- Pot ($93) -- 8c 9h 8h
Checked around.

Turn -- Pot ($93) -- 8c 9h 8d Qh
Hero bets $40. UTG calls. MP1 raises to $140. MP2 folds.

Thoughts on the best play here? Remainder of hand below.

Spoiler:
Turn -- Pot ($93) -- 8c 9h 8d Qh
Hero calls. UTG calls.

(After much reflection, I think b/f turn is correct instead of my call.)

River -- Pot ($513) -- 8c 9h 8d Qh 8h

For the river, thoughts on whether to check or lead out bet for value?

Remainder of hand below.

Spoiler:
Hero checks. UTG shoves all in for $1400. MP1 snap calls for less ($642).

Call or fold?

As played check flop, b/f turn is best.

I could even see an argument for checking your option in BB here, but I think the multiple fish may make it a raise if they aren't too aggro.

Check on the flop is correct. On the turn, I think I muck it after a flat call and a raise. Flat call could be nutty, raise could be J10, Q9, or any 8...doubt it's less than AQ. You could be up against a flush draw or a weak queen, but more likely than not, one or the other of these players has you beat. I would guess you have one drawing opponent and one that has you dominated. Checking spoiler now...

Spoiler:
Well, now you're stuck, and you could easily be up against quads or 99988 still. I think I'm playing this slow here - c/c. Checking last spoiler...

Spoiler:
You're beat, or at best, calling for a split. I let this go, and if I'm wrong, I remind myself that AQ sucks anyways.

I don't like playing OOP vs a bunch of opponents in big pots, so I might tend to simply check preflop so that this doesn't happen. Although, I guess stacks are so big that we don't have to really worry about getting committed with hands as weak as TP, so whatever.

I think I also check this 4way flop which is very drawy (so a cbet might not accomplish a whole heckuva lot other than building a pot with A high).

Turn is a bet/fold, IMO. We bet because we think we have the best hand, but now someone raises after a bet and a call. It is looking like our hand is no good now, and we have no redraw. Notice how JT just got there and could be protecting against the flush draw. I just fold now and move on.

As Played, I would fold. J 10, as well as A8s,87s, 98s, ?10 8 s are all in range.
We are ahead of bad q's a few small pocket pairs and bluffs.

I check preflop usually. Bet/fold turn looks good to me.

As far as the river goes, I would check and then fold here figuring that one of the two players remaining has an 8 or possibly even a straight flush from MP1. Still, a weird way to play the hand by UTG. If UTG is truly just a calling station and almost never fires off some suicide type all in, it's probably an easier fold.

After spoiler... At this point, we are now ahead of J10. We are still behind overs (less likely) and 8s. Small value bet, fold to jam. ? about $150

b/f turn.

fold river. you get to see hands regardless, you are calling to chop, etc.

fwiw 99 plays this hand just like this most likely.
