V1- 150. Raises a lot preflop. Calls a lot post flop. Makes thin value bets on river. (white 50 yr old)

Hero- 400. very tight. Played so few hands so far. Check raised flop with nuts and got stacks in. Pretty much all. (23 white male hoodie up)

V1 limps, few others follow, Hero looks down at AdQh on the button. Hero makes it 15. V1 calls. Two to flop.

Flop: (35) 7s9h10d

V1 checks, Hero checks.

Turn: (35) Qc

V1 bets 25, Hero calls.

River: (82) Qs

Villain bets 25, Hero shoves.

Input appreciated

His river bet-size is a bit odd. Had you seen him make any plays like that in the past? Any clue what it might mean? Obviously, he could be scared of the second queen (maybe he has JT or something), or he could be betting what he thinks will get called. I think without any other reads I would assume the former, but I think it is worth asking.

Also, what does everyone think about a smaller river raise - to 75 or something? I'm thinking it might keep in a few more of his hands that wouldn't call the shove, but I haven't run the numbers to see which would likely be more profitable.

I saw him value bet the river thinly. I figured that what was probably happening here. TJ was the first thing i thought too.

Given the PSR I felt like it was either all in or call.

I find myself getting a bit confused in this spot. Can he call with worse? I think he can but only with worse trips and maybe AT. Everything else like boats and straights have me beat. If we do the combos I think maybe it makes more sense just to call????

Really have no clue whats optimal

I think the shove is fine here. Especially is youve pegged him as a station already. River bet is small but i see guys do that with 2nd pair all the time. I wouldve pegged it as a pair of tens making a blocking bet. Valuetown the stations!

Yeah with villains sizing otr I think shoving is fine. If he makes it more than probably even 35 I just flat I think

This is well done. If you lost than you lost, the river shove is going to get called just as much as any other raise given his stack size.
