2-3, 100-500 buyin. This is the smallest NL in the room. We are new to table and 500 eff. Villain is unknown MAWG and has folded every hand in the couple orbits we’ve been in.

Hero in BB with AKss

Pre: V in utg opens 20 (12-15 is the normal open), folds to hero who calls.

Flop (42) : 973r bdfd
Check check

Turn (42) : 5dd
Hero..

Probably check, quite possibly check call. You have the best hand or are chopping a fair amount I would guess. Villain can still have slow plays though.

I don't mind calling strong hands when it the open raise was so big and it will be heads up. Particularly AKo, but AKs I think we should just raise it up.

Turn is a check and probably not fold. PF should still be a 3bet.

I prefer a probe to a check call.

Save your BB check with AK v UTG open for AKo. You can 3bet AKs 100% and be fine since it will be much lower frequency you'll get AKs.

Normally, if the pot was a "reasonable" size, you'd want to donk this flop a ton. This flop is terrible for UTG and great for BB. So, make sure under normal pot sizes, you're donking here a ton.

As played, you can probe for around 1/4 or 1/3 pot on the turn.

3bet pre, but since you flatted pre I would now bet ott.

You have it backwards, suited AK's can be flatted more often than unsuited.

Against an EP large raise, no other dead money to fight over, and no other player equity to deny, I'm fine with just flatting preflop.

And I'm checking (to fold) all streets UI.

ETA: Chance of preflop raiser folding to a turn bet once he checks the flop back? 0%, no?

He's probably folding all his Ax hands and hands like KQ and KJs and he's likely cbetting all his over pairs. I'm willing to take a creative stab at is (which is what I would have done if I flatted pre).

He's checking back those hands on the flop HU? I mean, I know the computer is probably checking back those hands on this flop a lot, but most opponents cbet their whiffed overs far too much.

If he's cbetting all his over cards, what's he checking the flop with heads up IP and why? He's UTG, so he should think he's representing a tight range which would give him more of a reason to cbet. A lot of people (in a 2/3 500 max game) won't even cbet with AK if they don't hit the flop. there's no description of him so if I bet 20 ott and he calls, I'll just c/f otr and might even be good if he calls and checks back with two overs.
