I just got sat at 2/5 after being on wait list and sitting at 1/2 being annoyed by the people around me, and pretty much just walking around talking to people I knew.

I get to my table and wait 2 hands to get dealt in on my BB. Both hands there was a $15 straddle UTG with 3-4 limpers followed by a late pos. raise getting 1-2 calls. The raiser took down the pot both times with a cbet. Probably avg. $1200 stacks across the table, but 500max so I can only come in with 100bbs.

I have played with one person at the table, everyone else no history. Had a few people that looked like one of those "aggressive internet kids" and then some old nits.

I get dealt AK ($500)

UTG Straddles $15
2 MP Callers
BTN Calls
SB Folds
Hero (BB) Raises to $125
3 Folds
BTN Calls $110
BTN has about $2k

FLOP: AA8
Hero?

Check. He's probably a spastic to call this raise with anything he limped the button with and he'll more than likely fire it. Easy to get it in in two strrets anyway.

Yeah this, especially the part about easy to get it in in 2 streets.

I'm curious on how you decided on your raise size? It seems high (125)with about 50 in the pot and your first hand, kinda screams "AK" IMO

Preflop, I would raise a bit less. When you raise to $125 and get called, if you bet the flop, which you may have to do (especially when a big stack calls in position) you're going to be playing for your whole stack. Raise to $70-$75 preflop and go from there. It may invite those limpers to call $50-%% more when it comes back to them, but it makes your decisions a bit easier.
As played, I would c-bet this flop for a little less than 1/2 the pot and get in all in on any subsequent action, whenever that may be.

I can make arguments for both betting and checking. If you do choose to bet, ide probably make it look weak, as suggested before, less than 1/2 the pot.

bet again, shove any river. in these spots it doesnt really matter what you do with the size of the pot and relative remaining stacks. the money is either going in or it isnt and i dont think your best sizing is really going to have that much of an impact on it seeing as its 50bb
