I live in a town with no casino so all my games are the “underground card rooms and home game variety.” Game is a very loose 1/2NL.

Villain($230) is a weak player who likes to gamble. Very much believes ATC can win. Bit of a calling station. However does view Hero as a tight wining player. Seems to tighten range when playing pots against Hero.

Hero($300): Raises to $10 w AK in MP
Villain on BTN calls
BB calls

Flop(~30) 344

BB checks
Hero bets 25
Villain calls
BB folds

Turn (~80) : 344A

Hero bets: 60
Villain calls

River(~$200): 344A8

Hero??? B/f ~$50, for value, C/C to throw rope to a busted draw, or shove for max value? Also if i bet ~$50 for value can I fold to a shove?

Villain has ~$130 behind

read on villain's range
OTF: All pp's, FD's SD's and all 4's
OTT: FD's, SD's??? I think my bet seems large to villain and to the table. This game players don't really look at the size of the pot to determine if a bet is considered to be "big". I figured this bet would fold out all PP's and fold out alot of SD's and weak FD's. But this villain has surprised me in the past with how light he will call.

Is there really that much difference? He's not calling with a busted draw anyway. Go ahead and throw that $50 in there. If he has the other 4 for some reason he's reraising you and you gotta call anyway, might as well make the decision easier.

If V is calling very light then why would you think your turn bet would get any PP on this board to fold/ and when you hit A on the turn why would you want V to fold any smaller PP or draw?

If he is tightening his range against you then I don't see many 4s here also.

You've bet at least 3/4 pot on both streets, and no since throwing the silly 1/4 pot bet on the river with this hand. (if V shoves are you seriously going to fold TPTK getting almost 5:1 on a board with busted draws?)

If he is truly a calling station just put V in for his last 130 and let him make another light call

I'm not sure I agree with betting. If he views you as tight, is he really going to call again with an underpair and an Ace on the board? Busted draws also fold. 4's shove or call your shove.

If you check river, he can bluff his draws and/or underpairs he hopes are good or is turning into a bluff. You lose to his 4's/ boats/ 2-5 straight anyway. I think I check/call.

Is he enough of a station to call with underpairs here? Or is he more likely to bluff a busted draw?

That's the question you have to answer but I lean toward c/c.
