Blinds are $1-$2 but game is $2-$100 spread-limit (max you can bet is $100 over the previous bet).

3 AM on Saturday morning. Villain has $600, I cover. While I’ve been very tight tonight, an orbit ago a big hand went to showdown where I revealed I 3-bet bluff preflop with J9o. (I won on a River suck-out.)

HAND: fish limps UTG, Villain raises to $14 (standard) in MP. Folds to me in BB with AdKs and I 3-bet to $50. Folds to Villain who 3-bets to $150. I make the call.

FLOP: AdQsTs (pot: $300, heads-up) I check. He checks back.

TURN: AdQsTs 7c (pot: $300, heads-up).

Is this a bet or a check?

In a normal NL game I would check again to bluff catch or value bet river if he checks it back again. We are either way ahead of KK/JJ, or crushed vs AQ, QQ, TT.

But since the max bet or raise is 100 I would just go ahead and bet 100 and call if he raises 100, then check call river.

I would think most villains in a 1/2 game are nutted here - you're in bad shape vs a nutted range preflop. On the turn I think I'd max bet along with max betting river.

I think you can x/call one street and that's it. You hope that he has AK for a chop.

But after two checks from the opponent, you can go for thin value on the river, because he capped - AK, KK. Any set would already have made a bet.

RESULT: yes this is where I was at too.

I do indeed check. V bets $100, I call.

RIVER: AdQsTs 7c Jh (pot: $500, heads-up)

Well, rivering the nuts in a 4-bet pot is always nice. Even though I have literally zero bluffs here, I have to bet, so I bet $100, and V laughs and says “I guess you have Pocket Kings” and folds.
