New to the table so no reads. really.

1-2 NL. 9 handed.
Effective stacks of 150sh

UTG +1 and MP both limp.

Hero is in MP with AJ and makes it 15.
Folds back around to limpers, first limper folds, second limper in MP calls.

35sh in pot.
2 handed.

852

Villain checks, hero bets 22. Villain calls.
Turn: 6
Check, check.

River: A
Villain bets 35. Hero????

Do we beat anything here?

I can't really think of any hands you're ahead of that make sense, but he's likely capable of taking weird lines with some hands you have beat, so you can probably call needing only 30%

Its probably not a huge difference EV-wise

Yeah- I think I agree with this. Not to mention, its the beginning of the session, so if villain shows up with something weird like K5 here, knowing that might be very profitable in the future.

If its towards the end of the session/ I'll not likely ever play against villain again, I'll lean more towards a fold, I think.

You're actually getting > 3:1, so I'd throw in the chips.

You raised pre, cbet and checked behind on the turn. How much does your hand look like a big ace? It's important to remind oneself that they are morons but still this is a fold.

Some players are capable of turning 33, 44, 77, 67s, 64s into a bluff here. Some players are also capable of taking this line with A3/A4. (And a few players are just spazzes who do weird things for no reason ) Of course we're usually beat, but getting better than 3:1 against an unknown at 1/2, I don't think I can find a fold.

I would just call here... Also in live games in position we don have to cbet our entire range.. As played I don't see a fold here. Live players jus loves to xr their flush and not many competent player leads out any made hands..i would call...

I think the player you're describing is the type that actually doesn't even think about what his opponents might have. It seems, in the games I play, they are a lot rarer than 1 in 4. Maybe I just give everyone too much credit.

How many opponents at 1/2 are trying to read your betting patterns? Closer to 10% or 80%. My guess is around 90%. Maybe more.

First of all, what kind of 1/2 games do you guys play?
If I'd raise to 15 I'd get 11 callers ... The dealer would probably just deal himself in!
Yah it's 7.5bb, no one seems to care though, in my games at least.

Anyways, I'd put villain on a flush, a set, the occasional straight (there are some possibilities although unlikely) or a better A.
Sometimes he'll have a weaker pair or a worse A, but expect to be beaten most of the time.
