5/10 NL 8-handed live in Petaluma.

Villain is kinda bluffy and LAGgy (but still very nitty passive compared to any online LAGs, because this is live 5/10 NL afterall) and has $400. I cover by a ton.

He limps MP. I raise to $40 with AA on CO and only he calls.

Flop is JT9
He checks. Whats my plan here? If I c-bet and he shoves do I call? Do I check behind to avoid putting myself in this spot as I can easily call off two barrels by him?

why would u even consider checking the flop?
most of the time people are going to miss the flop, and you have a made hand already ....def bet flop

Make it $50 or $60 preflop.

That board texture is gross, but I'm rarely folding AA getting a 3.5:1 SPR.

Given stack sizes, this hand plays itself. Bet/call, and it's not close to being close. We don't even have to utilize your bluffy/LAG read on villain to get it in here.

$55 or $60 pre then bet/call flop > bet/fold flop > check/call/check/call

make our pre flop raise a little bigger not allowing mediocre j10 hands to call OP. You have to bet the flop here and if he shoves you can re evaluate and make a read. If you want to make your flop bet smaller here then you usually do that is okey, But checking is not an option here IMO.

Your opponent only started with 40BBs - we are talking about less than 2 pot-sized bets before he's all-in. As Margaret Cho used to say, "just stick it in!!!". Bet flop, bet turn, and call any shove. He can have a lot of crap that did not get a huge piece of this board. And even if he did get a huge piece, you're never drawing dead (altho somewhat maybe thin).
