Hero ($300): Late 20s, playing TAG, neutral image. Have raised pre, and c/f gave up on a lot of boards. Just stacked off with AA.

V ($160): 30s asian guy who plays pretty solid for the most part. Have seen him donk lead a set into a preflop raiser once which showed me he's a thinking player. Have also seen him fold an overpair to a raise on a flop thinking the other guy had a set. I've never seen him shortstacked like this and imagine he's a little tilty/ready to get it in.

Hand: 2 limpers to me on the BTN with 9T and I raise to $12. Another V who looks brand new to poker no idea what he's doing with $200 behind calls, and main V in the hand who is 2 on my right calls after that.

Flop ($36): 986

Checked to me, I bet $17. Thoughts here? New player calls, and V thinks for a little while and looks pretty interested. I felt like he was considering raising, but then he sized out a call.

Turn ($87): 3

Both Vs looked like they considered leading out, but both checked to me. I bet $45 looking to continue to get value from draws. Thoughts on this? New player calls again, and now V counts out his stack and shoves for his remaining $131.

Hero?

What's the game?

PF is fine

Flop is too small. Lots of turn cards scare me and scare V's outta calling value bets with worse. I'm betting like $25-$30 here.

Considering live reads I check back turn. As played you gotta call, which is why I recommend checking turn.

Considering the weakness of our hand and the position here, the last thing i want is the pot getting out of control.

Checking back and evaluating the river is fine imo, moreso considering the observation you made about Vilain.

I'm also not a fan of the small flop cbet.

I don't actually mind the turn bet for value in a vacuum; what strong made hands are they check/calling with otf and then checking again ott? Their ranges are really draw heavy. As played, I don't see how we can possibly fold getting ~4:1 given the action thus far.

Edit: I ignored the reads about V considering betting/raising. If you think those are reliable, the decisions are a lot closer.

It is a pretty wet board that can hit a strt, 2 pair or set. All we have is a medium top pair,. Balanced/tricky villains can even have overpair here. Dont know why we r building a big pot with medium top pair on wet board. Fold.

Depends on your reads of V. Going off of the description this has to be a call. If V1 is solid I don't know what hands he has that can beat you here. OTF he was the closing action so most made hands or OP's would be raised OTF with his smaller stack size and the size of the pot. On a side note I would bet more OTF.

Fine both pre and on the flop. I think you should cbet a little more to $20. On the turn, since both villains showed interest in betting, you really need to check. You want to charge draws, but your priority is pot control with a weakish hand. You should bet the turn if you're confident both players are on a draw.

As played, you passed the point where you're committed after your turn bet. The pot is now over $300 and it's only about $85 more to call. Shove and hope the new guy gets scared and folds. You're getting almost 4-to-1 on the shove. You still have a gut shot draw as well.

Call. It really isn't all that close given the price your getting and your perception that Asian villain is ready to get it in.

Agree with more on flop. I am absolutely checking behind on turn. Not sure if I just put the rest in or call and hope new guy just calls (or folds). If you think he'll fold to a shove, just shove.

I really don't like this spot, though, especially with another player behind. All you beat on river is a busted draw (we hope) unless you bink.
