loose-passive EP limps, bad tag/lag reg makes it 10, i call in BB with 99, limper calls.
flop is 877tt. action is on me and i didn't know what to do or how to think through. help? i donked 16 and they both folded. i thought it was a bad bet vs. the raiser, but that the loose EP limper could call with lots of hands. and if i checked, i thought it was a good chance it would check through and i didn't want that. help?

I would bet fold $15 to $18 if PFR doesn't bluff much. If he can make moves, you will have to check fold or be prepared to call down. Most likely check fold.
Reason we bet is even against AQ+, TT+ we have the best hand 50% of the time. We are betting to protect our equity/hand. By checking we give a free card and if PFR bets flop and we call, he can check behind and get a free river or bluff us on turn (~27% of the time an A, K, or Q will come on turn).

Think I like lead/folding in general at this pot the most. Only need to go 1/3-1/2 the pot. You have the best hand most of the time so you're betting for value.
You can still get called down by worse pocket pairs and overcards and play accordingly on turns.
