NWI NL 1/2
I'm at a crazy game on Saturday. Hero and his best friend are getting killed. Hero is at 200 but in for the game at 350 and friend is at 200 and into the game for 700. My friend is a 38 yo Hispanic guy who's a great player but this hand perplexed me. He plays 2/5 regularly at the Horseshoe and sometimes at the Majestic Star too.
There are 2 terrible players present who are playing every hand, just about. Villain 1 is a BG who's 30 and has an 1100 stack with a 100 VPIP and the other is Villain 2 who's a 30 yo WG with 500 or so. They've beaten the short stacks to pieces and Villain 1 has had top pair or better on the last 5 flops. My friend is in the MP with 9 6
Hero is UTG and folds.
Villain 1 makes it 10 in UTG+1
My friend is in MP and calls the 10. He wants to play with Villain 1 as much as possible.
Cutoff calls the 10
Button makes it 200 all in!!! Button is a more conservative player but relatively unknown to Hero.
Small Blind goes all in with around 180
Big Blind calls the 200, this is Villain 2 with 300 behind
Villain 1 calls the 200
My friend in MP thinks for about 30 seconds counts up the money in the pot and then calls. He later told me he did this for pot odds. Villain 2 won the pot with K J
My friend told me his hand.
I don't know what the other 3 hands were as they mucked, but I told my friend his equity was only 8 percent or 10 percent I thought and that pot odds don't justify the call. Who's right about that?
I think he may have been influenced by hearing from a couple of guys who folded jokingly saying, "Can I have my hand back?"
I think he thought it was a lotto drawing. Correct play is to fold though right?

I was actually the guy with KJ off and that's not how the action went. I don't think he can call with 9 high though.

Next time u see me come say hi. I'm always up for talking poker.

No way 96d has 20% equity there against 4 all ins. Maybe if the action was different and he tried to 3! bluff with 96d then that action happened he's getting odds to put the rest in?

That's what I thought. My problem was I didn't know the other three hands but people always say pot odds and I wonder to what point that justifies what hands. I honestly don't know.

Well if that's the case then you're not a terrible player lol, hadn't seen you before that though and made my assumptions based on a very crazy table perhaps too soon.

I do think KJ all in is a terrible play though.

Fold pre, can call with this hand in LP vs these guys but I'm not into playing the 2 gappers in MP just because we want their action.

As played fold. We only have $10 invested, no need to toss another $190 in there. Unless you don't care and you would rather risk losing $200 on a slightly -EV play so that you can play deep stacked sooner.

If you give the 2 LAGs a range of A2+,77+ and the tighter $180 guy a range of AQ+,JJ+ then we have 20% equity
