88 in the CO against a Loose V

1/2. Hero covers V. Promotion Monday, everyone at the table limps to win the high hand except the hero.
V plays about 50 percent of his hands, mostly limps and calls. No closer reads because a large man blocks hero’s view and opportunity to probe.
OTT
V in the UTG raises to 6, the low end of the standard raise of 6 to 15 (it’s the weak loose passive promotion hour). Folds to hero, who raises to 20 in the CO with 88. V calls.
Flop (38 after rake) 7d7h3h
V checks, hero bets 20. V calls.
Turn (75) 4d
V checks. Hero checks and later regretted it.
River 4c
V checks. Hero?

Bet turn. AP bet river $45, you likely get called as wide as A-hi.

I'm not 3betting with 88 vs a guy who just raised from UTG who usually limps. That's just pressing buttons.
As played I would have bet the turn then I can check back the river. Now just bet the river for value, 45 sounds good but need to know stack sizes, all we know is hero covers villain but how much does he have?

I'm also not crazy about 3betting someone who mostly limps and is now raising.
Their open range is fairly likely closer to what normal 3bet ranges look like. Very top heavy.
Agree with all of above. Bet turn. As played value bet river. But don't be shocked if you get called by 99-QQ.

Hero checked. V showed AQo, and hero scooped a smaller pot than optimal.
I'm looking forward to playing this one correctly next time, if that ever happens. Thank you for making me accountable on twoplustwo.
