5/5 live hand vs short stack straddle

This was sent to me by a friend. Very common and annoying spot.
This is the read on Villain: He's only been here an orbit or so. Seems like he's played before fairly often, about 30 and possibly Armenian.
Live 5/5 blinds. Villain has ~215 to start the hand, I have 800.
Villain straddles for 10. MP calls. I have AsKc in the cutoff. I raise to... 50?
Folded to villain who calls from the straddle. MP folds. HU. Pot is now 120, villain has 165 behind.
Flop comes Tc5d2d. He checks. A shove is an overbet, and has pretty much no value. Checking behind seems criminal. But a smallish/regular bet will be for 1/3-1/2 the effective stacks. What do I do?

bet 60 and call if he all-in. don't care about post flop, you won this deal preflop
(but sometimes push good too)

why is checking behind criminal? you fold out everything apart from flushdraws that you beat and you have good showdown value to bluff catch on the turn
