$5/5 $300-1500 buy-in

Hero (~$2100)
Hero is a mid 20's regular with a solid image. Running fair today, haven't had any monster hands but haven't been F'd in the A either.

Villain (~2700)
No prior history with this villain but from what I've seen he's fairly sticky with a tendency to limp and call raises pre pretty often. Fairly knowledgable of the game and running pretty damn good. Late 30's, early 40's white guy with ball cap.

OTTH

UTG+1 limps
Hero in MP makes it 25 with KK
BTN calls
Villain in BB calls
UTG+1 folds

Flop ($80)
JQ6

Villain checks
Hero bets $70
BTN folds
Villain calls

Turn ($220)
J

Villain bets $135
Hero calls

River ($490)

Looks fine. Lots of busted draws and Qs in his range as well as Js.

All fairly standard IMO. Q will value bet that river since it is such a brick so I think you gotta call unless you got a great read on Villain (which you noted you don't really). A busted draw is also capable to try to lead out to take it down, esp if V is fishy since its hard to know what hes representing there but still can happen. If villain has a J I think you call, tap the table, and say "nice hand". Not much you can do there if you lost this one

Weird hand. I think you are getting value towned with a J a ton of the time. I find it hard to fold but don't think it's bad at all to. What has villian been doing this session? Running a lot of bets that have been uncalled or more snug?

Unless V has AJcc, KJcc, TJcc, or decided for some reason to call your almost PSB with a random Jx OOP it's hard to see how you're losing here. If he played 66 this way then you lost the minimum. I would expect to see busted draws, AQ and AJcc more than random Jx though so I'm snap calling.

Why just cc? I think all j10s ajs and kj are in his range.

J10 makes a ton of sense actually. I like the play if he has J 10 but should have polarized the bet even more to 450 475

How often is someone calling an almost PSB OOP with Jx and no backdoor draw on a FD flop? I guess that's the real question here. Hero is also blocking KJ.

I don't think you need a back door draw to call with AJ on this flop, hero could easily have AK, pair below J, draw, so many things that AJ is beating. I think any AJ is in the range, but like J9 or below would probably need to be clubbed up as well.

Seems fine

Without better reads this is definitely fine. After you call turn, river call is trivial.

With that said, the c/c then lead turn line is very rarely a bluff (or semibluff) at these stakes in my experience. Without better reads that the guy is nitty we can't fold, but most players exclusively have Jx+ with this line, I think.
