I know this is a NL forum but there doesn't seem to be another likely forum for 5/150 spread. If there is somewhere else I should have posted it, please let me know. For those not familiar with the game, the blinds are $3 and $5 and bets can be anywhere from $5 to $150.

I had been playing at this table for about an hour and a half. The table had been fairly standard...about 2/3 pots raised preflop with about 1/2 of those pots being multi-way. I had a fairly tight image, had only raised a few times preflop and only shown down solid values. The villian seemed like a solid player who didn't play a ton of hands but was usually aggressive in the ones he was in. He was on a rush, up about 600 in the time I had been there and picking up the majority of the pots he won without a showdown. I started this hand with approx $425 in my stack; he obviously had me covered. I was UTG+1 with KK. UTG folded and I raised to $25. 3 players call behind me including the villian on the button. The small blind also calls.

Flop: QQ7 (Pot: $130, my stack: $400)

The SB checked and I bet $75. Folded to the button who called. At this point I had little idea of what he might have. A queen/boat, flush draw or pocket pair < KK were strong possibilities along with a possible call-bluff given the board and the fact no players in front of him had called. I certainly thought him capable of such a move. The SB folded.

Turn: 5 (Pot: $280, my stack: $325)

At this point I checked. I had no information on his hand strength and while I'd hate to let him draw for free, I don't want to commit myself if he has a queen. I also wanted to see what he would do and decide how far I wanted to go with the hand. He bet $100. Against a very tight player I would just give up on the hand here but I knew he was capable of making that bet with a number of hands. My line could mean AK or some such hand although I think he would realize I am unlikely to C-Bet that hand into 4 players out of position when it is reasonably likely someone has a queen. If he had a draw or was attempting a call-bluff, his bet here would make a lot of sense and he may be hoping to get me off a pocket pair. If he had a pocket pair himself, it's possible although unlikely that he would be betting to protect what he thought was the best hand. I was unsure of the correct play at this point. I decided to call with the intention of checking the river...if it came a non-spade I was going to check-call again and hope he had one of the non-queen/full house possibilities. With a busted flush draw or other hand less than a queen he may bluff the river to try and get me off the hand.

River: 3 (Pot: $480, my stack: $225)

I check and he bets $150. I am getting better than 4-1 but I just couldn't justify a call with the flush draw hitting. I am not entirely sure about this...I am not sure he would make a max bet with just a queen since he had to consider a flush draw in my range but at the same time, he may not have expected I would go for a check-raise with a flush once the pot is already that big. I guess there is a possibility that he had a pocket pair he knew was no good or had absolutely nothing and was making the standard call-double barrel bluff move but with the spade hitting, it just seemed the odds of him having me beat were too high.

Please let me know what you guys think of this hand and how you might have played it differently. I almost checked the flop in order to get a better feel for the other hands involved and maybe I should have. Another idea I had was a smaller flop bet in order to try and keep the pot small.

If anyone knows someone who doesn't understand the value of position, please refer them here, LOL.
