$1500 eff. Villain is newish to the table and is in BB. Young European guy who speaks almost no English. I've seen him fold Queen Trips in a big pot on the river with 9 kicker. My image TAG.

Folds to me OTB with AKo. I make it $40. SB folds, BB makes it $120, I call.

Flop: AQ9r Pot ~ $250 V bets $150, I call.
Turn: J Pot $550 V bets $320

You and why? Please also provide a plan for the river if you're not folding. Feedback on earlier streets also very welcome.

I actually like 4 betting here pre to about $300....fold to a 5 bet.

Also, think you should've been raising flop in position and hoping to take it down there.

As played fold though, you're simply playing bluff catcher at this point. Without any history of seeing V 3 bet light, you have to assume the only thing you're beating is TT or KK. Villain has double barreled on this flop...let it go without more history with V.

Fold turn. I you only beat a bluff and this is not a good board to bluff if you are V.

Raising flop is pretty terrible, what are you expecting to get called by?

Ignore that smoking comment earlier...was going between threads and was for someone else's comment. Wasn't able to erase it after I realized.

I'm not happy calling multiple streets here against European LAG who I would suppose is very capable of triple barreling. I want to define where I'm at in the hand as soon as possible and cheap as possible. By raising to @$400 on flop, villain can not call on this type of board with less than 2 pair and most likely can get to river cheaper if called here.

$400<$150+$350

Puts villain on the defensive and if re-raised, we can comfortably let our hand go. Not always a fan of raising to "see where we're at" but works in this spot.

I'm never re raisin pre. Because in most cases I'm up against 10s or higher if called and my hand is either face up if I don't hit the board, and probably not getting much if I hit anyway. So I'm never re raising pre.
As played I call turn n evaluate based on his river bet, it's a tough spot, since obv u know he can have a lot of hands that has u beat by now but as the same time aj and sometimes kk plays it like this too. Regardless I call turn n re evaluate based on his river bet

i'm looking to get in all the money in pre, his 3b range against a button open is super wide and your perceived range is not very strong even when you 4b

What do you think his 3b range vs button steal is? What do you think button's perceived 4b range is in this spot?

Who knows? He's brand new to the table, tough to get accurate "perceived" ranges.
