Villain here is 20/16/3 over a few hundred hands and seems to be pretty decent. I started a new database so I dont have many hands on everyone but I think I recognize his name and remember him being solid/aggro. Weve played a couple hands together but nothing too interesting to note. Hard to imagine him playing a strong hand like this, this ok?

68 is the only hand i can see him playing this way that is calling/raising your river CR unless he's really fourth leveling here.

Don't like. His hand looks a lot like pocket 5s or 6x. I really wouldn't expect him to turn many pairs into bluffs on the river, because the pot is really too small for him to expect you to fold better than a pair of 5s. Plus, I think you can accomplish largely the same thing with a raise to $250.

I don't like the river check/raise because he never bet the hand before the river, so it's unlikely you planned the check raise. That makes it much more likely your bet is a bluff. In the villains view.

yeah, this doesnt look very good. a hand that calls your turn bet and then bets the river when you check?

you say he's a decent player. i dont see what a decent player is going to be value betting here that folds to a raise. the idea behind your play is to fold out a hand that beats 22. the problem is that i dont see a weak hand that beats 22.....value betting this river.

its possible villan has top pair with a weak kicker and checked behind on the flop. a hand like that could value bet the river but can you fold it out with a check raise? its possible.

the only realistic hand i see you folding out is a bluff. if villan is bluffing here, he is not a decent player.

Don't like it.

If he folds there's a good chance he was also bluffing and you had the best hand.

this play has never worked for me

i've got a 15 sample size going

i think they just always call because literally 100% of your range gets to the river.

not really because them betting the river is an anomaly

which is probably kinda the whole point of why they always call the raise
